Rainbow Room Foundation Joins Africa’s Changemakers at Elevate Africa-The Next Chapter Convening

The Rainbow Room Foundation (RRF) proudly participated in the Elevate Africa Convening 2025, a high-level gathering that brought together African leaders, innovators, policy-makers, creatives and development practitioners committed to shaping the continent’s next chapter. Representing the organisation, our CEO and Co-Founder, Ms. Sophia Wanyonyi, played a notable role both as a panelist and as one of the seven distinguished leaders inducted into the Elevate Africa Global Ambassadors Network.

RRF on the “She Leads: Innovating for Inclusive Power in Africa” Panel

A major highlight of the convening was our CEO’s participation as a panelist on the influential session titled “She Leads: Innovating for Inclusive Power in Africa.”
The panel brought together powerful African women advancing leadership and community transformation across the continent.
During the discussion, she shared insights from RRF’s work in Bungoma—demonstrating how youth mentorship, creative engagement, and community-centred programmes can shift power, expand opportunities, and build inclusive systems. Her contribution reaffirmed RRF’s commitment to nurturing young leaders and strengthening communities.

Spotlighting African Creativity & Cultural Influence

The convening also celebrated the richness of African creativity and storytelling.
A memorable moment featured Bola Edwards, founder of Proud African Roots and creator of Grandma Wura, whose performance illustrated how children’s entertainment can preserve culture, shape identity, and inspire learning. An approach strongly aligned with RRF’s youth development programmes.

A Big Moment for RRF: CEO Inducted as Global Ambassador

One of the most significant highlights for RRF was the recognition of our CEO, Ms. Sophia Wanyonyi, during the prestigious King’s Banquet.
She was inducted into the Elevate Africa Global Ambassadors Network, joining six other distinguished leaders from across the continent.

This recognition:

  • Showcases RRF’s growing influence beyond Kenya
  • Affirms our commitment to community empowerment
  • Places the organisation within a network of continental changemakers

It was a proud moment that reflects RRF’s continuous work in empowering tweens, teens and the elderly in our community.

Looking Ahead

The Elevate Africa Convening provided the Rainbow Room Foundation with a valuable opportunity to learn and connect with leaders from across Africa. With our CEO now one of the Global Ambassadors and representing RRF on a continental stage. The organisation is well-positioned to strengthen its regional presence and broaden its impact.

As this convening emphasized:
Africa thrives when collaboration, culture and trust guide our next steps.
